NEW YORK - JAZZ BRUNCH AND SOHO SHOPPING
Jul 27, 2015
Hola gente!
We must say we loved the brunch at Chantelle and we highly recommend it. As we did with the dinner in the Hill Country, we booked via the Opentable.com website, and our table was ready when we arrived. We begun with tasty non-alcoholic cocktails (less than 1$!!!) while the jazz band was ready to start the concert. And then we ordered one bloody mary and one mimosa (a trendy cocktail in NY of champagne and orange), and the food, an egg white quiche and one scrambled egg crostini, everything was delicious. After we took many of the non-alcoholic cocktails that were really tasty. And finally the sweet, a cake with nutella recommended by the barman. The total bill was 77$ including the 18% tip, and the food was really good. The environment was also very nice, we could see all kind of newyorkers, university people, families, small groups of friends or couples. The rooftop, although without views because is not too high, is very charming and well decorated. And the Dandy Wellington Jazz Band is just fantastic!!!! They are fresh and their music was really good, making us enjoying so much. You can see in their website the calendar, so if you have the opportunity to see them in the Chantelle, or another place, go ahead!
After the brunch we began our walk along Chinatown streets crossing also Little (so little!) Italy. As it begun to rain, we stopped to recharge energies with a couple of espressos and two chocolate mini-cakes in a famous Italian coffee shop, Ferrara. There were some people waiting to be seated, so we ordered to take away and then we continued our walk through one of the main streets of Chinatown, Canal Street to arrive Soho, which is a nice area with lot of beautiful shops. Shame that it was raining... and then we had to shelter in the shops to make some purchases taking advantage of some sales that they was offering!! Nadia bought a heeled silver sandals from one of her favourites shoes brand, Steve Madden for 40$. Javi took two jeans and a jacket from Levi's for 112$. And in Aldo, Javi bought a nice pair of bluchers and Nadia a fringed sandals and a fringed bag, all for 140$ as total. In a future post we will talk about the shoppings in New York, but now (July 2015) they are not as advantageous as before because the Euro is down. So, in our mind we decided to think that we were paying in euros instead of dollars, with the good surprise after which everything was a little bit cheaper because the minimum difference of the dollar down!!!

OUTFIT
As it was a bit cold and rainy, Javi decided to wear a shirt in addition of a white t-shirt and a black skinny jeans (the type of jeans Nadia's favourite) from Springfield with a slip-on shoes from Bershka. Nadia wore a off-shoulders shirt from Stradivarius, and yellow shorts, turquoise wedges (the most comfortable ever and the ones that were complimented by the shop assistants of Sephora and MAC!!) and white shopping bag all from Suite Blanco (SS15).
