Y volvemos a nuestro viaje a Nueva York, a contar uno de los espectáculos de moda neoyorkinos. El Queen of the Night, una cena espectáculo en el corazón de Broadway, aunque su última función en el teatro Diamond Horseshoe tuvo lugar en la Nochevieja pasada y ahora van anunciar nuevas sorpresas para esta siguiente temporada. Este post va a ser ligeramente diferente al resto ya que no pondremos muchas fotos, básicamente por dos cosas, allí estaba todo oscurísimo y porque creemos que es mejor que cada uno se lleve sus propias impresiones. Quizás nosotros vimos o leímos demasiado y nuestras expectativas estaban muy altas. Y no es que no lo disfrutáramos, lo pasamos genial y fue una experiencia diferente, pero quizás esperábamos más (sobretodo por el altísimo precio de las entradas). Tampoco tenemos muchas fotos del outfit ya que fuimos corriendo desde el brunch en Bagatelle, ducha rápida en el hotel CitizenM y para la cena en el Queen of the Night.  Así que las hicimos rápido y con el iphone (perdonad la calidad!).

And we come back to our New York trip, to tell you somethings about one of the trendy shows for the newyorkers. The Queen of the Night, a show dinner in Broadway, although its last performance in the Diamond Horseshoe theater was in the New Year Eve and now they are going to announce some surprises for the next season. This post is going to be a little bit different to others since we don't upload many pictures. Basically for two things, there was all very dark and because we think it is better that every one will have his/her own impressions. Maybe we saw and read too much and our expectations were very high. And we enjoy a lot and it was a different experience, but we expected more (moreover due to the high price of the tickets). We don't have neither many pictures of the outfit since we had to run from the brunch in Bagatelle, stopping for a shower in the CitizenM hotel and ready for the Queen of the Night dinner. So, we did it fast and with the iPhone (sorry for the bad quality!)

Como decimos, no os vamos a dar muchos detalles de lo que os vais a encontrar allí, pero básicamente es un espectáculo interactivo entre musical, malabares, con luces, colores y con algún estilo a cabaret, un poco hot. Te dan un cóctel a la bienvenida y toda la cena estaba incluida. Además nosotros cogimos un paquete en oferta done el vino espumoso estaba incluido sin límites. Estaba todo buenísimo. Pero de nuevo por lo que habíamos leído pensaba que iba a estar mucho mejor. Habia desde cochinillo hasta lobster, pero no todo llegaba a tu mesa. Hay que interactuar con otras mesas para intercambiar platos. A nosotros nos tocó una especie de pastel de salmón y una ensalada, ambas cosas deliciosas.

As we have told you, we are no going to give many details about what you could find there, but basically it is a interactive show between musical, juggling, with color and lights and some kind of cabaret, a little bit hot. They offer a welcome coctail and the dinner is all inclusive. We also enjoy an package where the sparkling wine was included without limit. All were very good. But again we have read that it would be extraordinary. There was from sucking pig to lobster but not all arrived to your table. You have to ask exchange with other tables. We had a salmon pie and one salad, both delicious. 

Antes de la cena te dejan tiempo para explorarlo todo hasta que dan el toque de queda para empezar el show y la cena y te tienes que ir a la mesa que te han asignado, si en tu paquete tenías una pre-asignada o coger una justo debajo del escenario en el momento en el que montan todas las sillas. Y comienza el espectáculo y empiezan a llegar platos, la verdad que son más de tres horas pero pasa todo rapidísimo y en cuanto que el espectáculo acaba aunque el bar sigue abierto todo el mundo se marcha. También pensábamos que iba a ser mucho más interactivo de lo que fue. Tan sólo me sacaron (a Nadia) para una partecita de un número con un diábolo. En resumen, estuvo muy divertido pero lo que no aseguramos es que cumpla las expectativas y sobretodo si  realmente vale la pena gastar ese dinero en este evento. Este show es de los mismos creadores que el Sleep no More, otro teatro totalmente diferente y que recomendamos encarecidamente, como os comentaremos en un siguiente post!!

Before the dinner they leave you a while to explore everything until the dinner and show begins. It was more than 3 hours but the time spend very fast and when it is over although the bar is still open everybody goes out. We also think it would be more interactive than it was. Just I (Nadia) was selected to make a number with a diabolo. In summary, it was very fumy but we don't sure that it fits everybody expectations and if it really worth pay such amount of money for it. This show is from the same people of Sleep no More, another theater completely different and what we highly recommend as we will comment in a future post!!

OUTFIT

Se suponía que había que ir casi de etiqueta, pero lo cierto es que allí vimos de todo, desde gente vestida para gala, como gente vestida de calle. Así que acertamos quedándonos en mitad ;-)  Yo (Nadia) elegí uno de mis vestidos para eventos favoritos, también de una diseñadora de mis favoritas Matilde Cano. Es cortito con animal print en marrón y con el cuello de joya. Además es perfecto para cuando no hace ni frió ni calor ya que tiene mangas sueltas largas. Y de zapatos me puse los que me había comprado en la ruta del día anterior  en el  Aldo Shoes  de Soho. Marrones de ante con flecos y tachuelas en dorado, y un bolso dorado también. Yo (Javi) escogí vaqueros negros de Hugo Boss, que quedan elegantes sin ser demasiado formal y una camisa celeste, junto con unos zapatos negros con suela de goma de Dark Collection.

It was supposed that we had to go in evening formal clothes. But finally there we saw everything, since gala dresses as people wearing totally normal clothes. So, we were right just keeping in the middle ;-)  Me (Nadia) chose one of my favorite dresses for events, from one of my favorite designers. Matilde Cano. It is short with brown animal print and jewelry. Moreover, it is perfect for when it is not so hot but not so cold. On the other hand, I chose a fringed brown and golden heels I bought the day before in Soho Aldo Shoes store. Me (Javi) wore a black jeans from Hugo Boss, which are elegant without being too formal. a light blue shirt and black shoes from Dark Collection.
