Con este post de food & drinks describimos nuestra experiencia en otro restaurante de Marbella, el Kava Marbella. Un restaurante con una cocina moderna e innovadora y de muy alta calidad, pero a un precio muy asequible. Está en pleno corazón de Marbella, en la preciosa Plaza de los Naranjos, llena de restaurantes quizás más enfocados al turismo. Pero el Kava Marbella está enfocado de otro modo, para un público más exigente al que le gusta probar todo tipo de sabores del mundo sin perder la esencia tradicional Andaluza.
With this food & drinks post we describe our experience in another restaurant in Marbella, Kava Marbella. A restaurant with a modern and innovative cuisine and very high quality, but at a very affordable price. It is in the heart of Marbella, in the beautiful Los Naranjos Square (The Orange Trees Square), full of restaurants perhaps more focused on tourism. But Kava Marbella is focused on a different way, for demanding people who likes to try all kinds of flavors of the world without losing the traditional Andalusian essence.
The chef Fernando Alcalá is a young guy enthusiastic and very talented. The restaurant is located in a very old house that belonged to his family restructuring the minimum in order to not lose the authenticity, but creating a pleasant environment. It is very curious to try such delicacies so exotic in such a rural place. We loved it!!
We started asking cocktails, a widespread option outside Spain that gradually is being established here which is so nice, especially now in summer. And even more when they open the terrace!!! We tried three cocktails, Fruticolada, Mai-Tai and Negroni from Malaga, all of them very original both in decoration and taste. Together with the cocktails we started with a tasting of olive oils, one from Bailen (Jaen, Andalusian) delicious and another one garnished with basil and tomato, and what a discovery! We think it is a perfect oil for both meals and breakfasts. And if oil were good, the bread made in the restaurant accompanied it even better. Tender and absolutely delicious!
Y luego pasamos a los platos! Lo comimos todo al centro ya que es lo mejor para poder compartir y probar varios de los platos tan apetecibles que ofrece el Kava. Empezamos con unos originales Dim Sum de Pato con una salsa de remolacha, que nada más ver el color te entraban por los ojos. Seguimos con uno de los platos más de modas que siempre está entre nuestros favoritos, Tataki de Atún. Pero este venía con una salsita de manzana verde y apio, y estaba delicioso, con excelente textura y sabor tan fresco.
And then we started with the dishes! We ate everything to share which is the option to try several of the appetizing dishes offered by Kava . We started with some original Dim Sum of Duck with beetroot sauce, with a wonderful colorful. We continue with one of the dishes most fashion that is always among our favorites, Tuna Tataki. But this came with a sauce of green apple and celery, and it was delicious, with excellent texture and taste so fresh.
Continuamos con un plato muy potente, un Tartar de Buey Madurado con Anguila cubierto con una especie de tortita. Desde luego un plato para los que le gusten las experiencias fuertes como nosotros, nos pareció super original y sabrosísimo. Y seguimos con el plato de la noche, un Salmonete, que son muy típicos de Marbella, con un Gazpachuelo delicioso (típico de Malaga). No hay palabras para describir este plato tan maravilloso, simplemente hay que probarlo para comprobar que no quieres que se acabe nunca. La combinación de sabores agridulces era perfecta para querer más y más. Y por último acabamos con con un Pato riquísimo con una salsa morisca de base de remolacha con canela y con zanahorias mini. Y por supuesto, los postres que estaban increíbles. Una Tarta de Queso con fresas naturales y un Flan con topping con base de ron.
We continue with a very powerful dish, Maturated Beef Tartar with Anguilla covered with a kind of pancake. A plate for those who like strong experiences like us, we found it super original and absolutely delicious. And we continue with the dish of the night, a Mullus fish, which are very typical of Marbella, with a delicious Gazpachuelo (typical from Malaga). There are no words to describe this dish so wonderful, simply you have to try it to make sure that you do not want will never end. The combination of sweet and sour flavors was perfect for wanting more and more. And finally we end with a delicious duck with a moorish with a sauce of beet with cinnamon and with mini carrots. And of course, the desserts were amazing. Cheesecake with fresh strawberries and a Pudding with topping and a base of rum.
En resumen una cena llena de colores y sabores del mundo muy modernos y originales. Con inspiración viajera, como nos gusta a nosotros, pero con raíces Andaluzas, como debe ser en nuestra tierra tan rica gastronómicamente hablando. Además un ambiente distendido muy agradable. Así que si este verano pasáis por Marbella y queréis una cena de muy alta calidad a un precio asequible (platos de 12-16 euros), te recomendado visitar Kava Marbella. Y en pleno centro, en una plaza realmente preciosa. A nosotros que no solemos ir por el centro de Marbella nos sorprendió muy agradablemente.
In summary, a dinner full of colors and flavors of the world very moderns and originals. With traveller inspiration, as we like, but with Andalusian roots, as it must be in our region so rich gastronomically speaking. Besides a nice relaxed atmosphere. Moreover, in the downtown, in a really beautiful square. We do not use to go through the center of Marbella and were really pleasantly surprised.
